Research:

Chao’s research interests focus on food microbial safety, food microbiome, and data science. His current project is to investigate the interaction between fresh produce microbiomes and foodborne pathogens to identify bacteria from fresh produce microbial communities that enhance or inhibit the growth of pathogens.
