Biography / Research
Yucen Xie is a research specialist in Prof. Luxin Wang’s group. Her research interests focus on food safety, specifically understanding pathogen survival and thermal resistance in foods or food-related systems under dry conditions and identifying cross-contamination risk factors in dry postharvest handling. Her research integrates food microbiology and engineering to develop quantitative models to predict pathogen inactivation during processing and bacterial transfer in dry conditions. The goal of her research is to generate strategies for controlling and mitigating foodborne pathogens from farm to table.
