Bill King is Strategic Research Fellow for Microbiology in the Clorox Company. Since 2013 he has provided technical leadership to a team of talented microbiologists, taking the company in new directions for testing and development of new disinfection technologies. During his tenure, Clorox has led the industry in new, improved methods for testing disinfection efficacy, from recent improvements in C difficile to the developing the next generation of EPA methods for evaluation of disinfecting wipes and sprays. By partnering with government labs, his group has been the first company to confirm disinfection methods for the epidemic isolates of both Mers-CoV and Ebola. Bill leads Clorox discovery for next gen technologies in the battle against HAI's and antibiotic resistance.
Bill has made a career of managing innovation and research programs in global technology companies, including DSM, Genencor International, Rhodia SA, and Rhone-Poulenc Inc. He has been fortunate to be able to explore and develop new solutions for food antimicrobials, industrial enzymes, fermentation cultures, probiotics, and emerging pathogens. Previous roles have also included creation of novel enzymes and bio-actives for improving human nutrition and health.
