Four abstract paintings by Marie Cruess (spouse of William V. Cruess), and the portrait of William Cruess that she painted. The portrait used to hang in the lobby of Cruess Hall. Marie had a solo show at SF MOMA, August 12-25, 1940. The tags on the back of the abstract paintings reference their inclusion in a December 1961 show at SF Museum of Art. You can learn more about William and Marie Cruess's life together and see more examples of Marie's art on the History page of Cruess Wine (used by kind permission of Alissa Lind.)
