Margaret Liang is a Sales & Marketing professional with 25+ years of experience in the Food & Beverage industry. She obtained her BS in Food Science and Technology from UC Davis, and later her MBA from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. Over the years, she has worked in Quality Control, Research & Development, as well as Sales & Marketing, in companies like Nestle, Vitasoy, ConAgra, and is currently working at WN Foods in Hayward.
Margaret is also a resident in the Tri-Valley Area who is passionate about community service. Over the past 10 years, she has served as Secretary, President, and now Board Chair for Asian Pacific Americans Public Affairs (APAPA) Tri-Valley Chapter (www.apapa.org), a National NPO whose mission is to get AANHPI community more civically engaged through education and community service. Flag ship programs include Annual Dublin Asian Heritage Celebration in Dublin, Internship Program, Candidates Forum, Civic Leadership Forums, Roundtable with Police Chiefs, and Voters Registration Drive. In addition, she has also served on Dublin’s Heritage & Cultural Arts commission and Dublin Chamber of Commerce Economic Advisory Committee to provide feedback and insight from local community on any new initiatives and pressing issues. In recent years, she also serves in Three Valley Community Foundation (www.3vcf.org) as a board member, participating in Grant-making Committee and Next Gen Philanthropy Committee. Margaret is keen on cultivating our youth to become tomorrow’ s leader
Due to her community services, Margaret was recognized as the Woman of the Year for Senate District 7 by Senator Steve Glazer, one of the Alameda County Asians of the Year by Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert, as well as the Dublin Mayor’s Legacy Award winner by Mayor Melissa Hernandez.
Margaret is thrilled at the opportunity to serve on UC Davis Food Science & Technology Department’s Leadership Board and will be honored to help support FST’s mission.
