Research

Isabella Tosta is a research and extension specialist in Dr. Erin DiCaprio’s group. Her work integrates applied research and extension projects in microbial food safety, with a focus on microbiological quality and pathogen detection in agricultural water, as well as improving practices in fresh produce production, post-harvest handling, and food manufacturing. She develops and delivers outreach materials and training to help growers and processors comply with regulatory requirements and meet industry demands, and she serves as an active instructor for the Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training courses in California.
