Research
Emily Durbin is an assistant specialist in Dr. Erin DiCaprio’s group and earned her B.S. degree in Molecular and Medical Microbiology. Previously she was an undergraduate researcher and Junior Specialist in the Harris Lab for over two years where she participated in microbial food safety research. She studied the influence of different environmental factors on the persistence of foodborne pathogens in the agricultural environment by participating in the California Longitudinal Study (CALS). Additionally, she contributed to the update of the Enterococcus Guidance developed by the almond industry. Her goal as an assistant specialist is to continue research on foodborne pathogens and to collaborate with industry partners to support public health.
