Christopher Simmons '05, M.S. '07, Ph.D. '11 is a Professor and the current Department Chair for Food Science and Technology. He was named Department Chair in 2021. Dr. Simmons' research focuses on improving energy and water use efficiency in food processing by reclaiming energy from waste biomass streams and developing strategies for waste water treatment and recycling. He joined the faculty at UC Davis in 2013 and is a proud Aggie alumnus receiving all three of his degrees in Biological Systems Engineering.
