Financial Aid and Scholarships

Financial Aid

The University of California has a strong financial aid program. At UC Davis, the Financial Aid Office provides financial assistance in the form of scholarships, loans, grants and work-study employment. Each year, approximately 44 percent of the undergraduates at the University receive some form of financial aid.

Financial aid, including many scholarships, is awarded on the basis of need, after a careful review of the student’s resources. For further information:

Scholarships, Awards and Prizes

The Department of Food Science and Technology offers scholarships, prizes and awards to students in the Food Science majors. Selections are made on the basis of leadership, participation in departmental activities, interest in specific areas within the undergraduate majors, in addition to academic performance. The annual call for Departmental Scholarships is sent out through the student listserv and announced through student clubs.

The Institute of Food Technologists offers scholarships to qualified students in the Food Science major, including high school students who will be enrolling in an approved program in food science or food technology, and who will be graduated from high school by the effective date of the scholarship.
