A Wisconsin native, Emily earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  She worked for two years as a Product Developer with PepsiCo Global R&D in New York before returning to school in October 2014.  At the University of California-Davis, her research emphasis is in the field of Brewing Science, with the particular intent to study foam and interface chemistry.  Upon completion of her studies in Davis, Emily plans to return to the food industry.
