Diane Fang Dou
Bachelor’s Degree in Science
Diane got her bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Engineering from Chinese Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University. Her latest research project as an undergraduate was the development of a sensitive colorimetric method for rapid detection of copper ions based on gold nanoparticles and click chemistry.
As a graduate student, Diane has developed main areas of focus on microencapsulation, biosensors and imaging techniques. Her current projects involve detection of lytic bacteriophages with emulsion encapsulation systems, characterization of mucosal absorption and oral delivery of bioactive compounds within encapsulation systems, and encapsulation of volatile compounds by natural carriers.
