Carol Cooper

Undergraduate Advising Associate and Food Science Librarian

Duties

Carol oversees all aspects of the undergraduate program, including advising on college, university and major requirements, academic planning, transfer credit, petitions and graduation certification. She also maintains student and class records and is involved in recruitment and outreach. Carol is the food science librarian and provides help and instruction on computer literature searches.

Awards

  • UCD Staff Assembly Citation for Excellence, 1989, for providing notable contributions to the department and service to students
  • NCIFT’s Outstanding Member of the Year, 1995, for longtime contributions and energy in working with all aspects of NCIFT student involvement and for helping food industry personnel in processing or sharing job availability information
  • Food Science and Technology Incentive/Recognition Award, 1997, for outstanding contributions and achievements in serving as a campus liaison to students and enhancing the department’s relations with the food industry, alumni, and families of students
  • Walker Award, 1997, an award based on student nominations given by the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at UC Davis to the outstanding staff advisor in the college
  • UC Davis Outstanding Staff Advisor Award, 2001, a campus based award, which was started in 2001.  The award, administered by students, was instituted in recognition of knowledge, care and commitment in providing quality advising to UCD undergraduates
  • IFT Elizabeth Fleming Stier Award, 2002, for pursuit of humanitarian ideals and unselfish dedication that has resulted in significant contributions to the well-being of the food industry, academia, students or the general public
  • College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Award of Distinction, 2006, the college's highest recognition given to those whose contributions and achievements enrich the image and reputation of the college and enhance its ability to provide public service
